Some examples of the rich biodiversity to be found in the Nar Valley around Castle Acre. Most are from the river and water meadows http://www.nickpix.co.uk/rivernar/index.html but the butterflies are mainly from the castle surrounds which are a mass of wild flowers in summer http://www.nickpix.co.uk/castleacrecastle/index.html. I apologise if I've misnamed any of the creatures pictured - the ones I see never seem to look like the ones in the books! Corrections are more than welcome! All photos were taken in the areas covered by the following maps: The first two, from DEFRA, show access to farmland and the third is a longer walk taking in West Acre. All three are downloadable PDF files. (You will need 'Acrobat Reader' to open them.)
